Nu har det gått ett par dagar sen sista anmälningsdag till vårterminen 2010. Ni var många som ville göra en anmälan och det resulterade i att vi slog rekord i antalet webbanmälningar. Allt har fungerat bra och smidigt och det var högt tryck under vissa timmar. Som mest tog vi emot 105 anmälningar på en minut!
Driftbloggen kommer nu att vila tills det är dags igen för oss att ge er snabb och intressant information. Tack för den här gången och vi hörs snart igen!

Last week was a very busy, fun time for us here at our operational maintenance blog. We’re so very glad to have had the opportunity to let you know what’s happening with us here at VHS, and on studera.nu, during the times we have had many visitors. We hope you find it informative to drop by here and get the latest news and updates.
We’re going to put this blog on inactive status for now, but will be back the next time things get busy on studera.nu. Until then, enjoy yourselves - we wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavours. :0)

For those of you who submitted an application for the spring semester 2010 on-time, you may be wondering what’s next.
During November, those who have submitted a valid application will receive a notification asking them to check that the information in their application is correct. Those who submitted their information electronically will be contacted by email and those that submitted a paper application will be contacted by regular post.
In the middle of December, applicants will be notified of the results of the first selection via the Notification of Selection Results. For those applicants offered a place in, or put on a waiting list for a course or program, they have until 21 December 2009 to reply to their offer in order to reserve their place. The easiest way to do this is through ”Your pages” on studera.nu.
It is important to reply in order to ensure that your place is reserved.

We have received a copy of a press release from VHS and though we would share some of it with you. It contains quite a bit of information about our final numbers.
Right after the midnight deadline last night, we had received a total of 183 016 applications via our website, studera.nu. This is a record for spring semester applications. Last year, we received a total of 158 953 via studera.nu. This is an increase of approximately 15% from last year to this year.
Last evening, we reached a point where we were receiving 105 applications per minute! During the last 6 hours of the application period, 18 200 applications were submitted, which was approximately 10% of the total. This tells us that a good number of people still wait until the last hours to send in their applications.
We still receive some paper applications – this year between five and six thousand. A year ago, we received 1 206. During this next week, we will add our paper application totals to our web application totals to get some final numbers on this year’s applicants for the spring semester.
If you missed the last date to apply, you can still apply to a course or program as a late applicant. There’s a possibility that qualified applicants can be offered a place in those courses and programs that have received less applicants. Universities and university colleges will be placing courses and programs with places available on studera.nu in the upcoming weeks.

Det var riktigt högt tryck det sista timmarna och ni var många som ville göra en anmälan. Under torsdagen fick vi in 37 194 anmälningar och som mest tog vi emot nästa 4000 i timmen. Mer statistik kommer i morgon.

It’s now midnight and the deadline has come – and passed – to apply for the spring semester 2010. We received an email at exactly midnight with preliminary final numbers for this application period. Final numbers will be available on Friday. Wait, it IS Friday. Later today then.. :0)
From 11 to midnight, 3 520 applications were received. That brings the total for this application period to 193 632. That’s approximately 15 000 more than the same time last year.
We’ve enjoyed spending time here on this blog, communicating with you regarding our drift status on studera.nu. We’re very, very pleased that the system managed the extra traffic without a hitch.

Andreas and the rest of the production team have provided us with some new numbers.
From 10pm to 11pm, 3,711 applications were submitted (the highest number so far in a single hour), bringing our total applications received to 190 054. We’re very close to 200 000, but we’re not sure if we’ll reach that number.
It will be very interesting to see how many people waited until the last hour to submit their app!
Vi har fått en ny lägesrapport från Andreas och resten av drift- och produktionsgänget. Det rusar på och vi har ungefär 4000 anmälningar i timmen. En ny toppnotering har vi också att rapportera – 78 anmälningar under en och samma minut.
Allt rullar på smidigt och totalt har vi fått in 188 876 anmälningar till vårterminen 2010. Nu är det bara en timme kvar…
Studera.nu’s traffic continues to increase this evening. So far, 186 321 people have applied for the spring semester. A new record was reached this past hour, with 73 applications submitted in one minute! The highest number of users we’ve had at one time is 9 800.
We expect to see these numbers go up during the last two hours of application time, if previous trends are any indication. We’ll update you soon when we receive new numbers from production.
Now that the deadline is near, studera.nu has seen an increase in traffic in the past few hours. Production’s latest report shows 2 787 applications from 8pm to 9 pm. So far today, we’ve received 26 408 apps, and a total of 183 148 for this application period.
We’ve looked at some other statistics and, as has been the trend, there are more women applying than men (although there are more men than women submitting applications in the wee hours of the morning….).
There’s a bit less than 3 hours left, so if you want to apply for the spring semester, the time is now!
